Laura Widgett is one of Canada’s leading opera singers and vocal coaches, known for her work with some of the country’s most promising actors, singers, and entrepreneurs. Through her signature method, students gain not only exceptional vocal technique, but also the practical tools needed to elevate their voices for stage, screen, and the professional world.

Her teaching is deeply holistic—connecting mind, body, and voice—to build vocalists with powerful performance mindsets, strong instrumental stamina, and a foundation of lasting vocal health.

Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Toronto and a Master’s degree in Opera from the University of British Columbia, Laura brings a wealth of performance experience to her coaching. She has been featured in Opera Canada, Creators Vancouver, CBC Radio One, and internationally in publications such as Opera+.
